Program Notes
Imaginary Spaces is a dance and percussion performance designed to be performed in any space, but in particular on Houston’s METRORail and in various public spaces near selected light rail stops. Given the often unpredictable nature of the performance venues, the work is designed to be flexible enough to accommodate any unexpected changes during performance. Both dancers and musicians are mobile, and the entire performance lasts around an hour and a half.
Imaginary Spaces was commissioned by Frame Dance Productions through support from the Aaron Copland Fund for Music and METRO Houston. The work was premiered November 2014.
