Program Notes

Chorale and Congregation was written during the summer of 2011. The work features a slow-moving and church-like chorale as a setting from which each instrument emerges and engages in soloistic discourse and chatter. Both chorale and congregation rise to a powerful uproar before dying back down to the tranquility of the opening.
